Career Quest
The Intervention Official is responsible for stabilizing
volatile crime situations in cases where normal policing is
ineffective due to abnormal levels of crime and incidents of
public violence. He/she is also involved in combating violence
and in rendering specialized operational support in the South
African Police Service.
What are the minimum requirements to
become an Intervention Official?
An individual must have completed Basic police training.
Training:
The member will undergo in-service training.
Where can you be stationed?
Intervention officials are stationed at Intervention units of
the South African Police Service in Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban
and Port Elizabeth.
