Career Quest
The Armourer is responsible for inspecting, servicing and
repairing firearms and weaponry equipment. He/she must also
acquire a thorough knowledge of ammunition and explosives.
He/she is also expected to manufacture small parts of the
firearms. The Armourers tasks varies as the diversity of weapons
used in the SAPS.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Armourer?
Refer to Artisan. He/ she must possess good hand dexterity,
be well-disciplined and must abide by all safety regulations
applicable to this trade.
Training:
Relevant In-service training will be provided in the South
African Police Service.
Where can you be stationed?
Logistics’ on Area and Station level where there is a need
for this service.
