Career Quest
Masons are usually the first tradesmen on a building project
and are responsible for building the inner and outer walls of
the buildings. A Mason is also responsible for inserting doors
and windows, for the building of solid and cavity walls, steps,
free-standing piers and arches. Skills required are often
severely tested by the complexity of the building designs.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Mason?
You should obtain the N2 Certificate in the relevant trade.
You should have physical endurance, enjoy working with your
hands and using tools and equipment. You should also understand
the drawings of architects and engineers.
Training:
Relevant In-service training will be provided.
Where can you be stationed?
Logistics’ in the South African Police Service.
