Pilots are highly trained professionals who fly aircrafts and
perform a multitude of tasks. A Pilot at the South African
Police Service Air Wing executes aerial policing by performing
aerial tasks as received from the operations room eg. Crime
Prevention, Vehicle Theft Operations, Dagga Spraying, etc.
What are the minimum requirements to
become an pilot?
You will need a Commercial pilot licence (airplanes and
helicopters) plus instrument rating.
Training:
Relevant flying-related courses and training in Investigation
Techniques will be provided by South African Police Service Air
Wing. Members of the Air Wing shall be given the opportunity to
undergo training to equip them to properly fulfil their
functions.
Where can you be stationed?
At South African Police Service Air Wing Units.
