The Vehicle Safeguarding Investigator is responsible and/ or
accountable for effective access control and identification of
vehicles impounded at Vehicle Safeguarding Units. He/ She must
also ensure the lawful disposal of each vehicle impounded at
these Vehicle Safeguarding Units and ensure effective exit
control.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Vehicle Safeguarding Investigator?
You must have completed basic police training.

Vehicle Crime Investigators Course and Vehicle Safeguarding Unit
Training Programme
Where can you be stationed?
Vehicle Crime Investigation Units, Vehicle Safeguarding Units
or Vehicle Identification Sections in the South African Police
Service.
