PROCUREMENT OFFICIAL

An Official is expected to open the National Tender Box daily at 11h00 and register all tenders received. The official must administrate all the suppliers’ information in the computer system. He/she is supposed to have control over the internal and external matters between the South African Police Service and the South African Bureau of Standards. The Official has to conduct workshops to enhance Black Economic Empowerment. Such an official has to have the knowledge of procurement regulations and procedures.

What are the minimum requirements to become a Procurement Official?

The person who wants to become a procurement official must have a tertiary qualification, i.e. a diploma or degree from the university or recognised College. Preferably he/she has to have procurement experience of between five and ten years. He/she must also have a drivers’ licence.

Training:

Each member of Procurement Section shall be given the opportunity to undergo training to empower/equip himself/herself.

Where can you be stationed?

The procurement official can be placed at Logistics National Office or at Provincial or Area level.
