Accounting clerks are responsible for the preparation of
general financial applications, financial authorizations,
preparing and checking of travel plans. They handle all
enquiries (written or verbal) with regard to financial
applications. In addition to these, they also assist with the
payment process and handle personnel matters and routine
financial clerical duties (perform ad- hoc financial duties).
What are the minimum requirements to
become an Accounting Clerk?
The individual must have a Senior certificate (Grade 12) or
equivalent qualification, with Accounting as a passed subject.
Training:
Individuals undergo In- service training.
Where can you be stationed?
Accounting clerks are stationed at the South African Police
Service: Financial and Administration Services at National,
provincial, area levels and at police stations.
