The manager inspects the state vehicles on a weekly, monthly,
quarterly and yearly basis, depending on the agreement of the
component or division. The vehicle fleet manager controls the
buying and boarding of state’s vehicles of the division or
section. He/she arranges all vehicle documents. He/she submits
inputs on vehicle documents circulated. The vehicle fleet
manager identifies irregularities or abuse and reports it to the
relevant supervisor. He/she makes sure that vehicle fleet is
maintained according to prescripts. The vehicle fleet manager
ensures the service standards are adhered to. He/she conduct
inspections of the logbooks.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Vehicle Fleet Manager?
A person must have grade 12 or equivalent qualification, but
preferably relevant degree or diploma. Vehicle fleet manager
must have a valid drivers licence. He/she must have excellent
communication skills and follow good relationship with the
personnel.
Where can you be stationed?
Should you qualify, you can be placed at the National Head
Office, Provincial, Area and station level at vehicle fleet
management unit..
