Career Quest
Architects are responsible for designing and planning of
buildings. When the South African Police Service wants to erect
a building, architects have the responsibility of designing
proposals. Architects firstly establish the South African Police
Service’s precise needs and investigate the location of the site
and other buildings in the vicinity. The availability and
suitability of building material are investigated. Then, they
start the preliminary sketches, so that the South African Police
Service can get an appropriate idea of what the building will
look like. The preliminary sketches have to be approved first
before costs are finalized and the final plans are drawn
according to scale.
