Communication Interception Officials are responsible for the
coordination, management and execution of court directed
surveillance requests using communication technology. They are
also responsible for covert interception and monitoring of
communication generated information. They liaise with
telecommunication networks and service provider coordinators
during operational activities.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Communication Interception Official?
Individuals must have Matric with Mathematics and Science and
must preferably have a telecommunication background.
Training:
External training include, technical/ electronic
qualification in the field of communication and computers eg,
degree/ diploma.
Where can you be stationed?
Communication Interception Officials are stationed at the
South African Police Service: Crime Intelligence.
