Criminal Information Official are responsible for the provision of information on crime and the rendering of a crime scene processing service.

What are the minimum requirements to become a Criminal Information Official?

The individual must have a senior certificate, be computer literate and familiar with the Criminal Administration Service, circulation system and other mainframe systems in use by the South African Police Service, and be fluent in at least two of the official languages of which one must be English.

Training:

Individuals undergo In-service training.

Where can you be stationed?

Criminal Information Official are stationed at one of the following sections of the Criminal Record Centres: National Head Office- Source documents, Production Control or Backup Section.
