The Cross Border Investigator does the planning of border
line, border posts and cross border operations, and the
execution of border line, border posts and cross border
operations.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Cross Border Investigator?
The prospective incumbent must have three years experience as
detective, be willing to undergo a polygraph, psychometric test
and/or security clearance vetting, whenever required to do so.
You must have background of vehicle crime investigation, be
willing to travel to African countries and be able to use the
South African Police Service mainframe system eg. the Vehicle
Crime Circulation System.
Training:
The following courses are presented: Vehicle Theft Course,
Firearm , Drugs and Narcotics Courses. Transtel also offers
training for South African Police Service members in satellite
configuration to set up satellite stations.
Where can you be stationed?
Cross Border Investigators are stationed at Cross Border
Crime Units in the South African Police Service.
