FORENSIC ANALYST
(Toxicologist)

Forensic Analysts (Toxicologist) are responsible for the analysis of exhibits material for the presence of harmful substances such as, poison, medicine, drugs etc. They also attend crime scenes that require their expertise.

What are the minimum requirements to become a Forensic Analyst (Toxicologist)?

The individual must have a National Diploma/Bsc Degree in Chemistry.

Training:

Forensic Analysts (Toxicologist) undergo training in instrumentation, drugs and toxicology. The provisioning of further training is determined by responsibilities and functions.

Where can you be stationed?

Forensic Analysts (Toxicologist) are stationed at Forensic Science Laboratories of the South African Police Service: Detective Services.
