Polygraphists are responsible for serving as an aid to
investigators (vetting or otherwise), providing periodic
polygraph testing(for vetting purposes) and providing direction
during investigations (eg. by reducing the number of suspects)
and to uncover the truth about statements by examinees, suspects
or otherwise.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Polygraphist?
A relevant degree or diploma in Police Science or
Criminalistics.
Training:
The following training is provided:
A ten week basic training course (polygraph) will be provided.
Further training include seminars and polygraph continuing
education courses.
Where can you be stationed?
Polygraphist can be stationed in the South African Police
Service at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Counter Intelligence
and Crime Intelligence.
