Scientific Analyst (Image Analysis) forensically analyses
exhibits in criminal cases. This includes: doing image analysis,
interpreting the results of image analyses, issuing reports,
doing method validation, giving expert testimony in court of law
and doing research.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Scientific Analyst (Image Analysis)?
You must have an applicable qualification namely a degree or
diploma in Photography or Graphic Design or Fine Arts with
Photography as a subject.
Training:
The orientation programme of the Forensic Science Laboratory
and Professional training in Forensic Scientific Investigations.
Further training include specialized training in the relevant
field of forensic science.
Where can you be stationed?
The Scientific Analyst (Image Analyst) can be stationed at
the South African Police Service: Forensic Science Laboratory.
