A strategic planner has to do the strategic planning of all
sections and divisions in the South African Police Service. Such
a person also evaluates all the applications of strategic
Management. He/she should ensure that all the plans are being
complied with throughout the South African Police Service
organization. He/she must ensure the developed strategic plans
for the organisation are achievable. Strategic Planner(s) has to
make sure that this plans are effectively utilised for the
improvement of the functioning and management of the South
African Police Service. He/she must ensure that all
functions/divisions/sections of the South African Police Service
adhere to the strategic plans for the organisation.
What are the minimum requirements to
become a Strategic Planner?
A person who want to become a strategic planner has to have a
national diploma in Human Resource Management or a Communication
Qualification from Tshwane University of Technology. Such a
person must be in the rank of a captain or equivalent rank/level
from another Department. He/she must have a drivers licence. The
person must be able to report well (able to compile excellent
reports). He/she must have excellent and effective communication
skills.
Training:
Each member of Strategic Planning shall be given the
opportunity to undergo training to empower / equip himself /
herself.
Where can you be stationed?
After verifying that a person is a qualified strategic
planner, she/he might be placed at Head Office : Strategic
Management. (Pretoria)
