PLAN DRAWER

Plan drawing forms part of the work of a functional police official who works at the Accident Unit at a South African Police Service Police Station. The drawing and photographing of plans of accident scenes are part of the gathering and recording of information for evidence purposes.

Other functions include the investigation of serious accidents including accidents and culpable homicides, apprehension of suspects, interviewing and arresting of suspects, presenting of evidence in court and involvement in other crime prevention operations.

What are the minimum requirements to become a Plan Drawer?

Because of the nature of this work one has to a trained functional police official.

Training:

One may undergo courses applicable to this kind of work such as plan drawing and photography courses.

Where can you be stationed?

Functional police officials who are responsible for drawing plans work at Accident Units at South African Police Stations.
