Child Abuse

What is child abuse?

Child abuse is generally defined as non-accidental injury, sexual abuse,
emotional abuse, trauma inflicted on a minor by a parent or other care-giver.

Several social factors contribute to child abuse. The most common are:

  • Substance abuse;
  • Economic abuse;
  • Stress;
  • Lack of family support network; and
  • History abuse
