The Minister was welcomed at the KaNyamazane community hall by the Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner, Commissioner Eric Nkabinde. Other dignitaries included Mr Thabang Makwetla, the Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Dina Pule, MEC for Safety and Security and Ms Mashego-Dlamini, MEC of Public Works. First on the programme was a brick-laying ceremony in Dantjie, where a new police station is currently being built. This station’s personnel is estimated at more than 300 people. From Dantjie, the group went to the Kamsogwaba stadium where thousands of people were eagerly awaiting the Minister’s arrival.
Minister Nqakula spoke on many issues which included service delivery and firearm amnesty. He applauded the people who had taken the initiative to hand in illegal firearms and contributing to a safer community and a safer South Africa. Minister Charles Nqakula laying a brick at Dantjie SAPS |
