The North West Province celebrated their 10 Years of Policing in a Democracy on 19 April 2005 in Potchefstroom at the Rugby stadium, Olėn Park. It was an eventful day filled with spectacular shows. Members came together to celebrate their hard work and dedication to the South African Police Service.

Apart from parachute jumpers, numerous stations marched proudly around the stadium led with enthusiasm by the Potchefstroom Mounted Unit. All the marchers wore Mzantsi T- shirts and paraded Mzantsi banners while highlights of the different units’ achievements over the last decade were presented by the programme director to the audience.Flags depicting the Mzantsi logo were hoisted during the flag hoisting ceremony and the North West SAPS choir serenaded the audience with their vibrant songs singing of democracy, whilst the North West SAPS band performed with brilliance.

The dogs from the Dog Units in the province, showed great intelligence during their performance in locating narcotics, explosives and simulated rescue attempts.Sportsmen and women who represented the South African Police Service at International level over the past 10 years were presented with certificates. The various sports included cricket, bowls, golf, chess, soccer and athletics.

To symbolize the 10th Year Celebrations the priority stations in the province, who over the past 10 years achieved the highest decrease in any of the 10 identified crimes, were awarded certificates. The stations awarded were Ikageng, Phokeng, Vryburg, Jouberton, Potchefstroom, Mafikeng, Thlabane and Loate.

All our members strive to reflect an image of professionalism, to serve with integrity, have respect for diversity, obey the law, render excellent service and gain public approval.
