Compilation of the Commercial Branch
The Commercial Branch of the Division: Detective
Service of the South African Police Service consists of the following:
-
The Commercial Branch Head Office;
-
Seventeen (17) Commercial Branches country wide;
-
Five (5) Task teams (which serve as satellite
units); and
-
A serious Economic Offences Unit. The establishment
of this Unit was to give effect to an instruction by the National
Commissioner of the South African Police that the Commercial Branch
had to establish such a capacity to investigate serious economic
offences.
