The Proceed of Crime Investigation Desk, Commercial
Branch, Head Office was established for the purpose of investigating
suspicious transactions report which are received from the Financial
Intelligence Centre (FIC) in terms of the Financial Intelligence
Centre. Reports received at the FIC are analysed and evaluated and the
reports concerning suspicious activities that have been identified are
sent to, inter alia, the Proceed of Crime Investigation Desk for
further investigation. The member liaise with internal
divisions/sections and external role-players to promote cooperation.
The Desk is also responsible for receiving, evaluating and
disseminating of suspicious corrupt activities reports which have to
be reported by person in certain positions to any police official in
terms of section 34 of then Prevention of Corrupt Activities, 2004
(Act no 12 of 2004).
