A SAPS flying
squad vehicle, crewed by Insp Clint Kraamwinkel, found a
duiker which had run into the side of a vehicle, on the
R103 at Lion Park just outside Pietermaritzburg. Insp
Kraamwinkel was unsure what to do, as the public wanted to
cut the animal's throat. Being an animal lover and dairy
farmer, Insp Kraamwinkel aka "Dr Doolittle" called in the
services of the NetCare 911 paramedics, to help him
stabilise the duiker.
The injured
duiker received expert care from the police emergency
services & 911 paramedics, MG Kritzinger & Ashee Salik,
and was taken to Insp Kraamwinkel's farm where a local vet
came out to treat the duiker. Settling in it's new home,
the duiker has been named "911".
