Crime Intelligence and Crime Detection

TC Williams
Timothy Charles Williams was associated with the South
African Police Service since 1994.
He was deployed in the Safety & Security Ministry with
Minister Sidney Mufamadi after the elections. He was a member of
the Interim Advisory Team of the Minister and the team dealt
with issues of policy development and advised the Minister on
issues of Transformation amalgamating the then eleven (11)
Police Forces, Legislation and generally on crime fighting. He
headed several task teams dealing with various issues e.g.
restructuring of and establishment of Crime Intelligence, VIP
Protection Services, Detective Services, Service Evaluations,
Corruption Investigations, etc.
In June 1995 he was appointed to the post of Head Service
Evaluation and Corruption investigations at the level of
Assistant Commissioner. In 1997 he was transferred to head Crime
Intelligence. He was promoted to a Divisional Commissioner:
Crime Intelligence on 10 June 1999.
On 1 March 2000 he was appointed in his current post of
Deputy National Commissioner responsible for Crime Intelligence
and Detection.
