KWAZULU-NATAL: On Monday 15 July 2024, Hawks members from Pietermaritzburg Serious Organised Crime Investigation together with members from Crime Intelligence arrested one male and one female suspects aged between 47and 64 for possession of drugs at Masikwana Street in Pietermaritzburg.

Members received information about a male and female suspect who were suspected to be dealing in drugs. The members proceeded to the said place and introduced themselves. The suspects gave permission to be searched. During the search, police found capsules of heroin from both suspects with a street value of R2000.00.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged for possession of drugs. They are expected to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 16 July 2024.

The KwaZulu-Natal Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Provincial Head, Major General (Dr) Lesetja Senona welcomed the arrest and applauded the members for their good work.
