DURBAN: 17 July 2020 – Yesterday, police officers from Provincial Organised Crime Investigations Unit conducted an intelligence driven operation in the Durban Central policing precinct aimed at rooting out the drug trade.
Following an intensive investigation, police pounced on the 38-year-old man who was travelling in a vehicle on Khuzimpi Shezi Road. A search was conducted and police seized 46 pieces of rock cocaine and full moons. The drugs have an estimated street value of R10 000-00. Police also seized cash suspected to be the proceeds of the drug trade. The suspect was immediately arrested and taken to Durban Central police station for detention.
He is expected to appear at the Durban Magistrates' Court today for dealing in drugs. He was also charged for contravening the Immigration Act.
