Upon arrival at the scrapyard two males were found in possession of stolen property. They were both interviewed and they failed to give a satisfactory answer to the police.

One of the Transnet Security Guards' positively identified the copper cables which were loaded in four bags of Transnet property worth approximately R16 000. The two males were then arrested for Possession of Presumably Stolen Property. They were both detained and will appear before the Verulam Magistrates' Court today on 2020-08-28.

Station Commander Colonel Santha Moodley has applauded the good work rendered by members and also appreciated good co-operation between our concerned citizens and the Police. She is also appealing to our community to say no to stolen goods and close the market of stolen goods. She is concerned that Tongaat is facing a major problem with copper Theft. This arrest will serve as a strong warning to the perpetrators of crime.
