TWO GANG MEMBERS ARRESTED IN POSSESSION OF DRUGS: BISHOP LAVIS

BISHOP LAVIS: On Thursday, 15 October 2020, members of the local Crime Prevention unit was tasked with the instruction to stop and searched known gang members ensuring a safe environment for the community.

In two isolated cases, to name a few, the members tasted success when gang members was arrested. At around 20:00, members was busy with visible policing actions in Bonteheuwel. When they stopped at 46 Als Road , they searched community members randomly. When they searched One(1) Thirty Two (32) year old male person, who is aligned to the Twenty Seven(27) gang grouping, the members confiscated Eleven(11) full Mandrax tablets. The suspect was arrested and detained.

At about 23:30 One(1) Thirty One(31) year old male, who is alligned to the Terrible Joster gang, was arrested in Kleinberg Road in Bishop Lavis. He was found in Possession of One(1) MX Tablet, Eleven(11) Halve MX Tablets, and Twenty Four(24) Stoppe dagga.

Both suspects will make a court appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates' Court to answer on Charges of illegal Possesion of drugs. The Station Commander of Bishop Lavis Saps, Brigadier Christopher Jones, praised the members for their commitment.
