TWELVE YEARS IMPRISIONMENT: NEWCASTLE

On 28 July 2018 at about 00:08, the Complainant alleged that he attended a complaint of an unknown man lying on the side of the road at Voortrekker Street, CBD Newcastle.  The Victim 37 years was brutally stabbed and robbed of his belongings. A case of murder was opened for investigation at SAPS Newcastle and the docket was assigned to Investigating Officer Detective Warrant Officer V Pawunkumar.

The suspect Zolani Mbuzeni Khumalo also known as {Frog} went on the run. The Investigating Officer brought other Role-players to assist in the case. The determination, hard work and long hours of intensive investigation by the members proved fruitful.  After being on the run for nearly a year Xolani Mbizeni Khumalo was finally arrested and had his day in court.

30 September 2020, the Newcastle Regional Court sentenced Xolani Mbizeni Khumalo, 32 years to twelve years imprisonment for murder.
