BISHOP LAVIS: An integrated operation conducted in Bishop Lavis on Thursday 19 November 2020 yielded success in many ways as different law enforcement agencies assisted SAPS in the fight against crime. The operation had a focussed approached in disrupting the strongholds of gangmembers in the policing precinct.

At about 14:00 the SAPS vehicle moved down Sneeuberg Way in Bishop Lavis when a male person was walking in the direction of the SAPS vehicle. When the male person saw the vehicle, he crossed the street. When the member of SAPS approached him, requesting to search him, the suspect started an argument. The member then brought the suspect under control and searched him and found a box of matches in his pocket. When the member opened the box, he found One(1) R5 Live round of ammunition inside. One(1) Thirty Three(33) year old male was arrested and detained. The suspect will make a court appearnce in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates' Court today, Friday 20 November 2020 to answer on a charge of Illegal Possession of Ammunition.

The Station Commander of Bishop Lavis SAPS, Brigadier Christopher Jones lauded his memebrs for going the extra mile in ensuring a safe environment.
