BIG APPLAUD TO SANDTON DEDICATED INVESTIGATION OFFICERS FOR RECENT CONVITIONS: SANDTON

Sandton: Big applaud to the work well done by Investigation Officers who worked hard and securing convictions on the different cases include fraud, attempt car hijacking and robbery aggravated and common robbery.

On the 20th October 2020, 30 years old male, George Maluleke was convicted five (5) years direct imprisonment by Alexandra Magistrate Court on charges of attempting car hijacking, assault GBH and armed robbery.

Maluleke assaulted the victim while he attempted to hijack his vehicle in Rivonia road on the 23rd December 2018. Detective Constable Makeketela Ramoroka worked hard to make sure that the court is provided with all necessary information to secure conviction on the suspect.

On the 16th November 2020, 39 years old male, Vincent Sbongiseni Mkhize from Cosmo City was also sentenced eight (8) years direct imprisonment by Alexandra Magistrates' Court for fraud charges.

In 2018 Mkhize was on the mission of false claims via one of the national banks following R212 000.00 was taken on various transactions. Intensive and focused investigation was conducted by Detective Sergeant Willie Masetloa, yield good results.

On the 31st October 2020, 5 cell phone snatchers between the of 28 and 32 years old, ( Sandiso Nkosi, Focus Ndlovu, Anele Dumani, Bigboy Mthunzi and Siyabonga Sitsha) who are Zimbabwean foreign nationals were arrested for common robbery. This group were terrorising the public snatching their cell phone in the past months.

In one of the incident took place in South Road, Morningside on the 31th October 2020 whereby victim was taken his phone at the value of R20 000.

They were given different sentences by Alexandra Magistrate Court from two (2) years direct imprisonment and most of them were having warrant of arrest and outstanding court date appearance. Job well done by Detective Sergeant Lawrance Maapola who pulls all necessary evidence together.
