Port Elizabeth:  Relentless efforts and tireless hours by Motherwell detectives paid off when a double murder suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning, 4/01.

It is alleged that during the early hours of Sunday morning, 3/01 at about  00:38,  the suspect aged 27 years   went to his ex-girlfriend’s house in Ncwazi Street  in NU7 in Motherwell. Akhona Koliti (27) , the current boyfriend and Sipho Maseti (67),  the ex-girlfriend’s father were shot  in their upper bodies.  Both men died on the scene. The suspect fled in a white VW Polo.

SAPS Motherwell detectives started their intensive hunt for the suspect. Following up on several leads, the suspect knowing that police were hot on his trail handed himself over to the investigating officer on Tuesday morning, 5/01.

Thobela Bari appeared in the Motherwell magistrates’ court today, 6/01 on two charges of murder. The case is remanded to 13 January 2021 for a formal bail application..
