WESTERN CAPE: "As a society, we need to ensure that if we want to root out corruption, we do not tolerate it." These were the words of encouragement from Muizenberg SAPS station Commander in Cape Town, Colonel Vassie Naidoo. He said the only way to stamp out corruption was to refuse to complicit and to report it when it happens… and Muizeneberg SAPS members are leading by example.

On Sunday 20 March 2021, Muizeneberg SAPS members were busy with their crime prevention (CPU) duties in Vrygrond when they came across a group of men drinking in Vuyo road in the area.  As they were busy arresting some suspects, two men approached them and asked them not to arrest their brother. One took out money and tried to give to one of the members, but the cop turned around arrested him for trying to bribe a police official. When they saw that the cops were not taking any of it and were continuing with the arrests, they started fighting with the cops. Both men between the ages of 20-28 years were  arrested and detained at Muizenberg police station.

Colonel Naidoo commended his members for a job well done and for setting an example for those who are corrupt.
