BMW STOLEN PARTS WORTH AN ESTIMATE OF R28 MILLION RECOVERED BY GAUTENG HIGHWAY PATROL

Gauteng Highway Patrol recovered BMW new parts worth an estimate of R28 million and arrested one suspect for possession of stolen property.

The incident happened on 13 May 2021. Members were following information which led to the recovery of the BMW new parts that was reported stolen from Pretoria.

Due to the case that was reported in Akasia SAPS, the suspect was traced until he was found in one of the recycling place in Bramley, North of Johannesburg where the suspect was arrested immediately. The preliminary investigations revealed that the stolen parts were from BMW Rosslyn in Pretoria. The stock was released to the owners via South African Police Services processes. Investigations are still continuing to determine if there are more suspects to be arrested/linked to the case, how and who was responsible of the stock that was found to be not at its own place,

A 48-year-old suspect will be appearing in the Johannesburg Magistrates' Court soon facing a charge of possession of stolen property.
