BIESIEVLEI CONDUCT SCHOOL SAFETY CAMPAIGN

To decrease incidents of bullying, substance abuse and child abuse, which lead to young children taking their own lives, Biesiesvlei Police conducted a School Safety Campaign at Tlhalefang Primary School. The South African Police Service (SAPS) was joined in the campaign by partners such as Community Police Forum (CPF), Department of Social Development, Orphans & Vulnerable Child Care Institution (OVCC), the Youth Desk and the Community Safety Patrollers.  

The event which was held on Thursday, 27 May 2021, saw Mr Lenyora motivating learners and encouraged themto conduct themselves in an appropriate manner as this will ensure a bright future for them.

WO Mogapi, the Visible Policing Commander, presented tips on preventing of bullying. Afterwards, Mrs Sephiri from Social Development presented the dangers of substance abuse. Ms K Bodumela from OVCC addressed the learners on child vulnerability.

At the end, the learners who listened attentively to the presentations, were given the opportunity to engage with the presenters.

As part of the day's activities the Communication Officer, Sgt M Setlhare and the Community in Blue members distributed informative and promotional materials to the learners.

In conclusion, Mrs Kgomosotho expressed her gratitude for the success of the awareness campaign and thanked SAPS for their tireless efforts in enlightening the learners about bullying and crime related issues.
