SAPS TONGAAT ARRESTED FOUR SUSPECTS FOR POSSESSION OF PROPERTY SUSPECTED TO BE STOLEN

On Tuesday 2021-07-06 at approximately 09:15, SAPS Tongaat Acting Station Commander Detective Lieutenant Colonel F Perumaul together with Visible Policing (Vispol) Commander Lieutenant Colonel NG Mfeka, Operational Support Commander Captain JV Naidoo, Vispol Support members and SAPS Vehicle Identification and Safeguarding Unit (VIS) executed a search warrant on the school premises situated at Buffelsdale.

This comes after police received information that there was an adult male who was renting a portion of the school premises to operate a vehicle repair workshop and possibly stolen vehicle were on the premises.

During the execution of the search warrant, Police examined two vehicles a BMW Coupe and a VW Polo.  The vehicles were tested and came up positive as having been stolen according to a Durban Central case registered in august 2019 and Malvern Case registered in July 2021. Vehicles were seized from the premises by the police and taken to Police Isipingo pound.

Three males aged between 17 and 44 males were arrested on a charge of Possession of Property Suspected to be stolen. All suspects are expected to appear before the Verulam Magistrates' Court on related charges.

Acting Station Commander Lieutenant F Perumaul praised all members participated in the execution of the search warrant about the professional manner in which they acted during the operation. This arrest was well received by the community.
