52 SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR VARIOUS CRIMES AT SANDTON IN THE PAST WEEK: SANDTON

Sandton: Police efforts and determination to eradicate criminal activities in the Sandton policing precinct still under level 3 lockdown restrictions. Police are very cautious about people and businesses who don’t adhere with lockdown regulations.

Amongst the 52 suspects were put behind bars the past week (26th July to 1st August)almost  half of them (25) were contravening the Disaster Management Act of 2002 under level three lockdown restrictions, 3 for attempted murder and robbery with firearm, 2 for assault common under Domestic Violence Act, 2 for intimidation, 2 for common robbery, 2 for drive while under influence of alcohol, 1 for rape, 1 for malicious damage to property, 8 for shoplifting, 1 for theft, 1 for using motor vehicle without owner’s consent, 2 for reckless and negligent driving and 1 for theft and fraud.
