Harare SAPS members attached to Crime Prevention Unit have arrested two suspects for dealing in drugs and dealing in dagga respectively. On Wednesday 2021-07-04 police received a tipoff about drugs sold in 39 block Makhaza, Khayelitsha. At approximately 08:30 they went to the address and searched the premises.

Upon searching they recovered one hundred and sixty (160) full mandrax tablets and eight(8) parcels of dagga. A 56-year-old male was arrested and once charged he is expected to make a court appearance in Khayelitsha Magistrates' Court. In a separate incident at approximately 09:30 police once again acted on information when they searched a house in Enkanini informal settlement, Khayelitsha.

At the premises they recovered two hundred and forty six (246) bankies of dagga and thirty five (35) stoppes of dagga wrapped in a brown paper. A 33-year-old female was arrested and is expected to appear in Khayelitsha Magistrates' Court as soon as she is charged.

The estimated street value for the confiscated drugs amounts to Ten Thousand Rands (R10.000.00).                                                            

Police management applauded the members for their efforts to remove drugs in our communities and furthermore showed their appreciation to members of the community for sharing information with the police to get rid of the drugs.
