Bothasig: On 31 August 2021 members and former members from SAPS Bothasig, as well as other colleagues had the opportunity to pay their final respects to a former colleague and friend, Captain Dawid Johannes Kruger.

Capt Kruger who had been on retirement since 2019, had recently passed away after a short stint in hospital.

All the members attending, met up and drove in a convoy to the Kruger residence in Goodwood, where they met up with Capt Kruger’s wife and children.

During the emotional event, members had the opportunity to hand over flowers to Mrs Kruger and pay their respects. Lt Col Patrick Jacobs the former station commander of Capt Kruger, read out a memorial to Capt Kruger called the “Last Inspection”, where after the members in uniform gave the last salute. It was also mentioned that Capt Kruger, whose passion was rugby, and whose knowledge thereof was like an encyclopaedia of South African rugby, will definitely be missed.

Thank you for all the memories oh big one.

You will be missed.
