POLICE OPEN AN INQUEST DOCKET AFTER AN ELEPHANT ALLEGEDLY TRAMPLED A MAN TO DEATH: POLOKWANE

POLOKWANE - The Police at Gravelotte in Mopani District have opened an inquest docket after a 54-year-old man was reportedly trampled to death by an elephant in one of the Game lodges in the area.

It is alleged that yesterday on Thursday 23 September 2021 at about 10h00, the deceased, Mr Pieter De Kock was in the company of USA visitors on the said game farm, doing some game drives when they allegedly came across  a group of elephants. One of the  elephants suddenly charged at them. Mr De Kock whom is said to be the farm owner, was killed by one of the elephant.

The police were called and a case of inquest was ultimately opened. Police investigations are continuing.
