FAMILY ARRESTED FOR R2.5 MILLION WORTH OF FRAUD ALLEGATIONS: GAUTENG

GAUTENG – Additional family members and business associates were charged with fraud and theft of approximately R2.5 million on Tuesday.

Cecilia Smith (49), Stephanaus Claasen (58), Emile Claasen (34) and Jacques Fritz (31) were served with summons to appear in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court today facing charges of fraud and theft

They joined their co-accused, Adelle Fritz (50) who was arrested in June this year and charged on the same matter. In 2014, the accused allegedly created fraudulent credit facility with the Tellerscrew company’s details of R500 000 for Siyakhula Engineering which they were all directors.

The matter was referred to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Germiston for further investigation. Investigation revealed that Tellerscrew loss approximately R2.5 million due to the alleged fraudulent activities.

The case was postponed to 04 November 2021 for docket disclosure.
