Nyanga Detectives pounced on three teenagers today(Thursday, 30 September 2021)  following the robbery of a complainant who came to Browns Farm to buy a play station 4 he had seen advertised on FACEBOOK Market Place.

The complainant made arrangements yesterday(Wednesday, 29 September 2021) to meet with the seller to buy the play station in Browns Farm(Philippi) but when he arrived at the meeting point he was approached by five unknown suspects who robbed him and fled with his car radio, cell phone, cash, keys and other loose items who were in the car.

This morning the wife of the complainant shown an interest in buying the same play station and made arrangements with the seller to meet in Browns Farm again but what the couple did they informed the police about the robbery and today’s deal. An operation was initiated in an effort to bust these culprits.

The Detectives and the couple went to the meeting point and when suspects saw the vehicle they came passed the vehicle unknowingly that the police were also around.

The complainant identified the suspects and the three aged  20, 19 and 8, were arrested and detained. One of the suspects was found in possession of an Iphone that was robbed in the same modus operandi in February this year.

The trio are expected to appear in Athlone Magistrates' Court on Monday on armed robbery charges and possession of a presumably stolen property.

The station had in many times advised people not to entertain would be buyers and sellers from Browns Farm, Philippi because they are not interested in buying but their intentions are solely to rob people.
