SOMERSET WEST SUCCESS REPORT

Two suspects aged 31 and 40 years of age was arrested on Friday, 01 October 2021 for theft of a firearm at De Beers Avenue in Somerset West.

A complainant has reported to police that on Thursday, 30 September 2021 at 16:30

he was in his vehicle when he fell asleep in the parking area. He then heard his vehicle door being pulled open. Two unknown males stood next to his car. The one suspect grabbed his firearm from him and both suspects fled the scene.

The case was reported to police and information was sought for the stolen firearm.

On Friday, 1 October 2021 at 00:15 police got a breakthrough when information received was followed up. The information led police to Lourensia Park where two suspects was arrested and positively linked. Both suspects appear briefly in the Somerset West Magistrates’ Court yesterday and the case is postponed to Monday, 11 October 2021 for a formal bail application.

39-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF TIK

A 39-year-old man is expected to appear soon in the Somerset West Magistrates’ Court on a count of possession of illegal drugs.

On Sunday, 3 October 2021 at 00:15 police executed a search warrant in a residence in Somerset West. 52 small packets of tik were confiscated and one person arrested.

Station Commander, Colonel Jacolize Fleischmann commended the members for the outstanding arrest.
