WESTERN CAPE: 8 OCTOBER 2021 - Our endeavours to disarm suspects in the Western Cape yielded positive results when members of the Cape Town K9 Unit arrested four suspects for the possession of an unlicensed firearm with ammunition and the possession of an hijacked vehicle yesterday (Thursday, 2021-10-07).

The members received information of a suspicious vehicle in the Blackheath Industrial area and spotted the vehicle in Range Road and stopped it. The vehicle was tested and found to be hijacked on a Lwandle case. Upon further search of the suspects the members found a 9mm CZ100 Luger pistol with ammunition in the possession of one suspect.

In an unrelated matter members of the Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 27-year-old suspect for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Military Road, Lavender Hill last night (2021-10-07). The members were busy with patrols in Depsiton Crescent, Lavender Hill when they heard gunshots nearby. They went in the direction of the sound of the gunshots and saw a suspect running and chased him. The suspect was apprehended and found in possession of a .38 Special revolver with ammunition.
