Charmaine Vorster embarked her journey back in 1993 and stationed  at Harding police station where she was working as senior admin clerk , the love and passion she had to serve the community drove her to become a police reservist at the same time. In 1994 she was transferred to Margate police station where she worked in various components. Due to her dedication and striving for unity among employees she was elected as a Union representative until 2020.

“As I was approaching my retirement I decided to step down as a Union representative so that I could give others a chance to assist while I remained in the working environment. In 2006 I was promoted to a Chief administration clerk at Izingolweni SAPS where I served for five years . In 2011 I went back to Margate where I served until I retire” Charmaine said.

In the years that she served in the SAPS she went on all courses that were made available which enabled her to excel in her duties as an Admin clerk and Union representative. She wished everyone remaining behind in the service, a blessed one with  good health and protection from our Gracious Lord.

On behalf of his management,  Margate SAPS Station Commander Brigadier  William Slabbert thanked Mrs Charmaine Vorster for her commitment and loyalty. She was equal to any task given to her  and will be remembered and known as a filling specialist. She was her own supervisor and made sure he work was perfectly done. The Brigadier wished her a  well-deserved, happy and fulfilling retirement.
