SCHOOL SAFETY AWARENESS CONDUCTED IN HUHUDI

Huhudi Social Crime Prevention embarked on an outreach campaign, targeting three High Schools in Huhudi on Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 May 2022.

The Departments of Education, Social Development, Health, Public Safety and the South African Police Service were invited and  formed part of the School Safety Awareness campaign.

Learners from  grade 8-10 were educated on the health dangers of using drugs and illegal substances. Sister Naledi Molatlhegi explained and cautioned learners about the danger of the usage of excessive illegal use of  illegal substances, as users end up suffering from mental illnesses. Her concern was the excessive usage of drugs and illegal substances in teenagers.

Miss Portia Pedenyane of the Department of Social Development explained children that  are involved in drugs usage, end up getting in conflict with the law. She further encouraged and motivated learners to focus on their education and not to allow their personal circumstances and challenges of life not to negatively have influence in their education that would make them to drop out from school.

Huhudi Social Crime Prevention officially handed over the School Safety Boards to the different schools identified. Ms Lerato Manoko from the Department of Education appealed to learners not to contravene any of the rules mentioned on the School Safety boards.

The Principals from the schools invited, were grateful for the school safety campaigns awareness conducted and thanked the police for erecting the school safety boards at their schools.
