As part of school safety programme, Madikwe Police Station members working with other stakeholders embarked on awareness activities.  In partnership with representatives from Departments of Social Development and Community Safety & Transport Management as well as Madikwe Crisis Centre, Community Development Workers (CDW), Spiritual Crime Prevention and School Governing Body (SGB), members visited Bogatsu primary school in Tlokweng village on Wednesday, 25 May 2022, and addressed approximately 600 learners on bullying, general safety tips, children’s rights and Gender Based Violence (GBV). The school Principal thanked all stakeholders for their presence and participation in the activity.

In another activity on the same day and in conjunction with Department of Social Development and Madikwe Crisis Centre, the station conducted school safety awareness at Thebe Ya Tlhajwa high in Koffiekraal.   The school has a serious problem of substance abuse and bullying. Stakeholders addressed learners on bullying, substance abuse, Gender Based Violence (GBV), children's rights and general safety tips. The Deputy Principal, Mrs Diole appreciated the visit by stakeholders and requested for more and regular visits to the school.

In the last awareness activity on Thursday, 26 May 2022, the Community Policing Officer (CPO), Sgt Mogami and Domestic Violence Coordinator, Sgt Masokwane visited Herman Thebe School to address learners on bullying and violence in schools. The learners were among others, addressed on bullying and general school safety which included tips in and outside the school premises. During the address, the learners were also sensitised about being cautious of strangers and kidnappings. Consequent to the address, a school safety board received from the District office, was officially handed over to the school.
