Children's Act, 2005 (Act No. 38 of 2005) obliges the citizens of the Republic to give effect to the rights of children as enshrined in the Constitution. On Thursday, 2 June 2022, Biesiesvlei SAPS in partnership with the local Community Police (CPF), observed the Child Protection Week at Uitschot primary school.

CPF Deputy Chairperson Miss Motsumi outlined the purpose of the visit while Communication Officer, Sgt Setlhare presented on sexual offences focusing on rape and attempted rape. The Social Worker, Mr Goieman from Department of Social Development presented on teenage pregnancy, peer pressure and substance abuse.

Presentations continued with Liquor Board representative, Mr Lebese addressing the learners on the dangers and effects of liquor as well as the regulations thereof. He further discouraged learners from abusing alcohol as it may lead to early addiction.
