NORTHERN CAPE: - The Hawks Serious Commercial Crime investigation team arrested  33-year-old, Andile Blessing Mkhize for investment fraud. The suspect was traced and arrested at Molweni in KwaZulu Natal province  on Friday, 3 June 2022.

It is alleged that the suspect is one of three people who were running a bogus investment company (pyramid scheme) by the name of Value FX Made Easy between October 2019 and July 2020 in Kuruman.  Community members invested their money with the company and some were paid half of their returns while some were not paid at all. Thereafter the company operators vanished with the community’s investment estimated to be around R3 million.

Two other suspects, Siphephelo Zondi and Tshepo Mabaso who were arrested previously wherein Zondi was denied bail while Mabaso was granted bail of R 5000.  During the arrest of Mkhize, police seized two vehicles belonging to the suspect valued around R360 000.

Mkhize will join his counterparts at Kuruman Magistates’ Court on Monday, 07 June 2022 and his case was postponed to 10 June 2022, for formal bail application.

The Provincial Head Major General Golekile Galawe lauded the investigation and arresting for team  in executing a successful operation.
