Gqeberha: 7 June 2022 -  Quick response by SAPS Mount Road members  led to the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of suspected stolen tyres in Deal Party on Monday evening, 6/06.

It is alleged that on abovementioned date at approximately 19:30, SAPS Mount Road members were busy patrolling in  Deal Party in Old Grahamstown Road when they noticed a white Colt LDV bakkie driving without lights towards  Swartkops. Two men were seen lying on a big load that was covered with a tent at the back of the bakkie. The members stopped the vehicle and upon searching the vehicle, 22 different size of  tyres were found.  The suspects were unable to provide any information or proof of purchase.  The tyres is valued at approximately R70 000.00. Their vehicle was also impounded. 

All four suspects aged between 24 and 33 years old  were arrested on charges of possession of suspected stolen goods.  The investigation is ongoing and all four suspects will appear in the Gqeberha Magistrates’ Court during the week.
